Is it wasting of time surfing the networks.

The Internet is a worldwide, publicly accessible series of interconnected computer networks that transmit data by packet switching using the standard Internet Protocol. It is a "network of networks" that consists of millions of smaller domestic, academic, business, and government networks, which together carry various information and services, such as electronic mail, online chat, file transfer, and the interlinked web pages and other resources of the World Wide Web.

Well I think the description gives us a point that the Internet is the biggest source of information and services.Of course if you have nothing better to do you can always chat with different people and friends on forums or just surfing the net. There are plenty positive and negative uses of the Internet.

The positive things about the Internet is there are encyclopaedias that can get you information about your topic in mere seconds for example: google, yandex and etc... You can also exchange information about ideas with people all over the world.And lastly it's fast and cheap well sometimes.

Now let's talk about the negative things of the Internet. First of all if you google something you will see that the information is not always that accurate or not according to your topic at all.

Secondly some sites can be uselles or have mistakes in topic's re-edited by other people. And lastly there are some sites that can harm your computer for example: viruses, spywares, adwares, and the most annoying of them all is random pop-ups.

In conclusion even though the Internet has some problems and sometimes inaccurate. It's still a great source of information and plays important role in people's life.
